If Romeo and Juliet is a story of adolescent alienation, of young love driven underground by a corrupt establishment, then there is no better sound track for Shakespeare's tale than the music of RADIOHEAD. "Full of literary themes itself, Radiohead's alternative rock is surprisingly effective: sometimes sensual, buoyant with tension; sometimes howling frenziedly about grief and loss" (Time Out Singapore).

Now Ballet Maribor marries Shakespeare's classic with the music of Radiohead in a new take on timeless. Artistic director and choreographer Edward Clug has rocked international dance festivals with his unexpected juxtapositions of music and movement; in Radio and Juliet, he adds the twist of running the story in reverse. In his ballet, Clug says, the story begins when Juliet sees Romeo lying dead next to her, and the story that follows is a "kind of retrospective of an unfulfilled love."

Driven by Radiohead's relentless beat, this stark, utterly compelling version of the classic tragic romance defies you to tear your eyes away, every tightly choreographed move signaling a violent end to love.
